CARLOS ENRIQUE GARCIA GONZALEZ
Ambassador Carlos Garcia is a career diplomat from El Salvador that served his country at the United Nations from July 1996 to June 2014, in different positions and ranks, being his last position as a Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the United Nations.
After a successful long-standing career of more than 23 years in the public sector, Ambassador Carlos Garcia entered the private sector in July 2014 founding CG Global Consultant, a consulting business focused in the international relations, in particular the multilateral affairs, the South-South Cooperation, Information and Communication Technologies, Financing for Development, Human Development, Prevention of Violence, Culture of Peace and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
On September 20, 2016, Ambassador Carlos Garcia was appointed as Vice President of the World Organization on Governance & Competitiveness (WOGC) with headquarters in New York and later in November 2016.
On November 29, 2017, Ambassador Carlos Garcia founded the United Nations Association of El Salvador, inc., (UNA-SV), serving as the Secretary-General of this non-governmental organization.
In October 2018, Ambassador Carlos García was recognized as a "Corresponding Academician" at the International Academy of Sciences, Technology, Education and Humanities, based in Valencia, Spain. In that same year, he founded, together with two other academics, the Delegation of the United States of America of the Academy, based in New York.
In February 2019, Ambassador Carlos García was appointed as "International Governor of El Salvador, at the Universal Peace Academy, based in India, and as a member of said Academy, at the Chapter of the United States of America.
On March 18, 2019, Ambassador Carlos García received an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities from the Río School of Government, based in Tampa, Florida.
On April 15, 2019, Ambassador Carlos García received the title of "Honorary Member" from the North American Academy of Modern International Literature, based in New Jersey.
On May 1, 2019, Ambassador Carlos García was appointed as President & CEO of the Organization for the Relief of Poverty and Development, OPAD, for the United Nations and the United States of America.
